Two roads, one clear path.

In 1955, our founders were driven to create a local Bank that understood our customers and the unique Keys market in which they lived and worked. They knew that to meet our customers' needs a focused direction and clear path needed to be laid out. A path that's direction was guided by providing value and service to our customers and community.

Just as our Florida Keys community celebrates and works to preserve our historic 7-mile bridge, outstanding progress continues to modernize and enhance the roads we utilize in our daily travels throughout our island chain, building upon our rich history while expanding the infrastructure that makes our lives more convenient today. The same is true at First State Bank of the Florida Keys.

First State Bank realizes the great strength that comes from our long history and dedication to the Keys. We also understand that we must continue to expand and deepen our relationships with our customers, internally and externally, electronically and digitally, to meet their increasing demands for quick and efficient service in today's mobile world.

Success, it is said, is not a destination, but a journey. In 2013, our journey was highlighted by the following accomplishments:

  • 4% Growth in Core Capital - Strongest Capital in History
  • 35% of Assets in Cash or Liquid Investments
  • $4 Million in Deposit Growth
  • Bank Liquidity Greater than Required by Regulators

As the only remaining locally owned and headquartered bank in the Keys, First State Bank continued to lend on both commercial and residential projects in 2013 to stimulate the local economy, employ our neighbors, and support our community.

Local civic responsibility remains a driving force in the Bank's philosophy. In 2013, First State Bank continued our historic dedication to our community providing substantial cash and in-kind donations including over 2,000 hours of employee volunteer service, tents, mobile ATM service, and online promotional banners to support Keyswide charities, civic, and community organizations.

The roads that we travel have and will continue to change us, but our path remains clear. We will continue to provide value to our customers so that no matter what road they choose to travel, we will always be here for them providing the banking and lending services to make their journey better.
