First State Bank of the Florida Keys Executive Vice President Bette Brown was named "Humanitarian of the Year" by the Upper Keys Rotary Club for her efforts in establishing Klinik Sante Fanm Kenscoff, a health clinic in the most devastated part of Haiti. “Following the earthquake that devastated Haiti, Bette convinced our local Rotary club to help start and finance a health clinic. Bette has devoted an unbelievable amount of time and effort into its execution and success,” said Upper Keys Rotary Club President Mark Kohl. “Without her efforts the clinic would never have been possible.” Bette joined First State Bank of the Florida Keys in 1995 as Senior Vice President/ Regional Manager. She was promoted to Executive Vice President/Retail Market Executive in 2000 and assumed her current position as Executive Vice President/Regional President in 2005. Bette’s dedication to the Keys community includes involvement in the Monroe County Workforce Coalition, Greater Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, Upper Keys Rotary, Business & Professional Women’s Association and Mariner’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
