First State Bank of the Florida Keys has partnered with Historic Tours of America to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Flagler Railroad’s arrival in Key West by sponsoring a special fireworks display following the Flagler Railroad Anniversary Ball on January 21st at 10p.m. from the Casa Marina Resort.
“As the oldest and only remaining locally headquartered Bank in Monroe County, First State Bank is proud to sponsor the Flagler Centennial fireworks display celebrating this historic Keys milestone,” said First State Bank President and CEO Karen Sharp.
Celebrations commemorating the Over-Sea Railroad’s centennial year are scheduled throughout the Keys. In addition to the special Fireworks Display, events include history tours showcasing Flagler sites, bicycling expeditions, educational presentations and explorations of Pigeon Key all leading up to the 100th anniversary of the first train’s arrival in Key West, culminating Jan. 22nd.
